i resent the whole premise of HAVING to drive. this country’s culture around cars and shitty public transport are engineered to disenfranchise poor people. you buy the car and have to pay tax, pay for inspections, plates, insurance. you probably need one of these things to get to work btw. everyone needing their own car to function is an obvious american individualist “freedom” > the environment or other people thing. you’re a second class citizen without transportation, and if you’re in a food desert or rural area you’re just hungry and isolated. meanwhile people overseas are getting straight up murdered for oil to power the cars they force us to have.
